چکیده

The flow in the vertical long-axis fire pump exhibits complex, three-dimensional, unsteady features. In an attempt to understand effects of turbulence models on mechanism and performance characteristics pump, ANSYS CFX software was used carry out numerical studies using URANS. main objective this study investigate dynamics within influence applying different computational models. then sought conduct a brief analysis pressure pulsation pump. reliability CFD model validated with external characteristic test. transient distribution, velocity field were analyzed. results compared experimental results, where it revealed that SST k-ω showed 1.82% 0.81% improvements efficiency head, respectively, over k-ε terms power performance, however, standard is less likely over-predict by overload conditions as other charts did not show significant reactions varying across all studied rates. However, streamlines there several disruptions streamwise flow, both RNG exhibited more recirculation areas than Overall, for type application, best-performing model, while poorest performance. Nonetheless, also has its strengths. This investigation would serve theoretical reference further research development fluid machinery.

the effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...

Flow Field Characteristics of an Aerospike Nozzle Using Different Turbulence Models

To improve the calculation of the flow properties of an aerospike nozzle, different turbulence models were investigated in this study. The primary shape of the nozzle plug is determined through utilizing an approximate method. The flow field is, then, simulated using the Navier-Stokes equations for compressible flows. The commercial computational fluid dynamics code Fluent is used to simulate t...

a study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns

attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...
